Edit: I even found the dealer:

Their inventory is super sweet (but overpriced):

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So this has been driving me crazy. A few months ago I was looking at the stock of independent dealships, as I do when I’m bored, and I came across a dealer that had a sort of ugly, but kind of awesome car I had never seen before. The only things I remember for sure about it was that it had kind of a dumb name reminiscent of a 50s b-movie monster, like Mongo, and that it was basically a 2000-2005ish American muscle car drive train. It had some sort of production connection to Europe, maybe Germany, wasn’t connected to a major manufacturer, and wasn’t a kit car. I remember it definitely having a Wikipedia page.

Basically, I’m looking for something like a “Something something Mongrel” with a Mustang engine. Help me, Oppos!

No pics? But Qvale Mangusta? Learned about it from the cars.com inventory finder a while back.

Qvale Mangusta!!!!!! God, thank you! At first I was like “eh, that’s a few decades out of my range,” then I googled it.

What sort of car? Anything about the look helps. Body style?

Yup! For whatever reason, I conflated the Qvale and Mangusta, and was positive I was looking for something with a short M name. Thanks!

I see the answer was Qvale Mangusta. Maybe the ugliest car of all time.

So I see. Quite the oddball indeed.

It’s ugly, but I sort of like it despite that.

Apparently only 284 were made, which explains why it stood out so much to me.

I love what the Qvale mangusta became under MG. The MG SV.

A thing of beauty.
